CAREERSPointers for applicants

CV
When deciding if you want to work for Lean, ask yourself: How will my CV look when I decide to leave, what will I gain out from this?
Dialogue
Interviews are a two-way street, ask whatever is important to you. This way we learn what might be important to different people, and we grow as well.
Strategy vs tactics - use both
The knowledge you gain from this job will shape your future value – do not take a job just because the salary might be greater. Always have a strategic view of your career and growth, with one eye on the tactical screen.
How to set a salary level - Part I
You know what you want, and we should know it too. When you assess your value, we will not negotiate. We will upgrade your price by approximately €7 to €15 per hour, and offer your services. The responses from our clients is feedback for all of us.
How to set a salary level - Part II
Do not offer us a range, be precise. If you offer a range, we will apply the lower figure, and you may not be satisfied with that. Give us the salary level that will make you happy, while being realistic about your place in the market.
Why we do not negotiate
We would like you to be financially satisfied. We would also like you to give 100% on the job, and we believe these two things are connected.
Know who you are
Some people feel good in corporations, some like freelancing, others are only happy if they are building a product. Find out what suits you and share this with us. Maybe you will miss out on one gig, but you will save a lot of time and ultimately end up working on projects that you care about.
Future is important
Tell us about your skills and potential, but also tell us your goals for the future. To become a SW architect or Agile coach, or to have your own company? Whatever your wishes may be, we feel it is the best for Lean to participate in their realisation.
The road less travelled
If you have a problem, share it freely with your supervisor. If you are a senior employee, praise the progress of your team and help your juniors.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN YOU GET A JOBExpected challenges

If you decide to accept our offer and work with us, if something bothers you, react promptly and inform us as soon as you can. Some challenges can only be resolved if we have enough time to do so, so the sooner you speak up, the more chance we have to resolve the issue. Concerns might look like this:
“I’m working on a Java project but I want to learn Python.” In such instances, we would aim to find your replacement and organize the transition, preferably as seamlessly as possible for the client.
“I’ve had enough of the health industry as a domain, I want to get into the finance domain.” In this case, we would want to find a project in the desired domain that matches your skills and preferences. Then we’d need to find your replacement, organize the transition, again, preferably as seamlessly as we could for the client.
